Re: Cheap project car suggestions

I was just thinking today, if I were 10 years younger, a 5.4 32-valve Lincoln MK VIII would be fun. He mentioned the MK VII but I'd prefer the MK VIII.

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette

I suggest a test fit of the new chain. I predict it will have a lot less slack than the old one.

Synthetic Gasoline

This is pretty neat for old cars. For future cars, it seems the intermediate products, Hydrogen and Methanol, would be cheaper. My choice, long term, would be many, many solar-powered H2/O2 generating stations making fuel for fuel cells in vehicles. https://arstechnica.com/cars/2022/04/porsche-inves...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette

Can the front of the engine be raised enough to get a puller on the pulley bolts? Would that be very difficult?

Trick for Expanding Stiff Springs

Saw this posted on the Lincoln forum. Seems like it would work in some cases. If the pennies didn't extend the spring enough, I expect the pennies could be removed, one at a time, and replaced with something thicker. I struggled once with a clutch pedal spring and think this would have been easier t...

Sounds useful if it's not hydrolocked.

Tiresmoke Car Show?

You guys have a great collection of hobby cars, from classic to modern and in between. You should put on a Tiresmoke car show.

HP Ratings

https://ateupwithmotor.com/terms-techno ... orsepower/

I thought the Gross HP was FHP and Net HP was RWHP (Misconception #1). Knew that manufacturers shaded ratings for various reasons, but didn't know it was so complicated.

Re: Software Update

Dave, Thanks for all you do for TireSmoke.org. I have all my projects since the Maverick on there and I still peruse them occasionally. Thanks also for allowing my 2019 driving trip thread which I also review periodically. I wouldn't have put that on a more publically known server. Much appreciated....

Re: online videos of whatever

Good drag car project? Restoration would probably cost more than buying one ready to go.
