Re: Quickest Cars on Tiresmoke
It's been forever since I raced my '34 Plymouth, but IIRC on street tires (all I ever ran) I went 13 flat on one of my worst 60' times. Fun car!!
Homebuilt FED IIRC 9.36 @ 144 1.3X 60' maybe I'll better that this year (of course I said that last year and didn't)

Hit a 13.63 at 103 last night at Norwalk, err Summit. With a huge bog off the line (2 second 60'!), in the '84 RX-7 on crispy dried out old all-seasons.
Can't wait for 42 to open up again. Summit takes FOREVER to process the staging lanes.

Just looked at http://dragway42.com and those guys are hardcore serious. Love seeing a new track being built, and they are making real progress.

Re: Quickest Cars on Tiresmoke
By request, I put up a couple 1/8 mile times next to the 1/4 mile times so our friends in the south that don't get a whole 1/4 mile have something to compare to. So if you know your 1/8 time, go ahead and edit as necessary.

Well, I dug deep into my "Time Slips That Don't Suck" pile....and found my best 1/8 mile time was 8.35 @ 84.57 MPH. Driving was outsourced to TireSmoker.....

Re: Quickest Cars on Tiresmoke
I just updated some of the list based on our last outing to TRP. I know there's a bunch of times that need updating from the last few weeks between MostMint's trip out there and 32V's Z71. I had a copy of TireSmoker's time slip so I updated his.

I removed my STS-V number from current and left them in Life Time Achievement.
I added my new Silverado numbers.

Re: Quickest Cars on Tiresmoke
Well....I thought it might be time for an update. Car's been running very nice save for an idle issue with the 770 Street Avenger. Allegedly, I have a return authorization from Summit for it....but I'm not sure which way I'm going to go at this point.
But, the weather cooperated last Friday at newly remodeled Dragway 42. On my second pass of the night, I trapped at 109.70....which I think lets me round up to 110 MPH.
So, Dave was done a little early and we decided to put his slicks on my car as they are much more "race" oriented than my street Nitto 555Rs. After a weak burnout and uneventful pass, I gave the tiller to Dave for two passes....and he got the numbers I was looking for.....without breaking much of a sweat.
Best 1/4 mile ET is now 12.2803. (after a 12.3980)
Best 1/8 mile ET was 7.8044 @ 88.36
60 foot time was 1.7557
These two passes were into a material head wind. DA started the night around 2300 or so....but it got progressively cooler as the night went on.
So, the car is quicker than I hoped, Dave can drive like a champ, and I have to go to remedial burnout and drag race school.
Still, the car and new motor are very fun to drive/race and I'm very pleased with the results.
As always, thanks to Dave and BP for all of their help.
