Post by VeeDub »

Picked this up from an old friend of mine,(For my Girl) who is a Audi/ Porsche Tech @Stoddard here in N.E. OH
Specs. 200,000 miles or so?(gauge cluster has been replaced, I trust him)
Manual Trans.
Completely stock (NICE!)

The good (as of 02/10)
1. New Ball joints
2. New R/H tie rod end
3. New wheel cylinders
4. New Calipers
5. New radiator
6. New M.S. Cyl.
7. New rear brake lines

The Bad (as of last month)
1.Rust
2. shift linkage is **cked
3. braked are soft (he told me this before I. err.... WE ... bought it)
4. Need a polishing and wax (I didn't know VAG painted cars w/ flat paint!

Ive fixed the all Bad except for the proportioning valve that is the source of the "soft" brakes.

First pic... Rusty

Sourced a used hatch from an Oklahoma car, the one that came with it was not salvageable but ... WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY!! ( its same color) and went to work!

What a neat result! Ah, but is it to early to ask how you attach the front plate.

EDIT:

Oh I also forgot to mention the goodies that came with the car:
Spare 8v engine
spare trans
2 rear tail lights
spare gauge cluster
1.8t cyl head from a Audi A4 with only 10,000 miles on it!! (that alone is worth more than what we paid for the car!!) :P
Extra set of camshafts for that head

An Audi car cover (for my VR)
